“World Union of Muslim Women can set example of unity among Muslim women.”
An Iranian female Member of Parliament called late Imam Khomeini (RA) as the pioneer of unity among Shia and Sunni saying an aim behind his effort to send Islamic Revolution to the world was to explain some of the issues we are facing now.

Fatemeh Rahbar, Member of Women‘s Faction in Iran’s Parliament, in an interview with Taqrib News Agency (TNA) in the sideline of the first meeting of World Union of Muslim Women held in Tehran said,” Launching this union has been a step to realize the high aims of late Imam Khomeini (RA), particularly when, in regards to the present situation in some, there has been a necessity to set examples for realization of unity among Muslims.”
She noted that the World Union of Muslim women can lead the way and set the example for unity among women across Muslim world and added,” This union can take the beginning steps to create convergence among Muslim women.”
She also referred to the role of Muslim women in the Islamic Awakening saying,” In some so-called Muslim countries, where women has played no role in social and political issues, now women are involved is quite serious arenas and World Union of Muslim Women can play an important role in this line.”
