Senior Iranian MP highlighted Hajj as one of the best times for discussing proximity among Islamic denominations.

Hujjat-ol-Islam Sobhani Nia, member of the presidium board at Iran’s Parliament, in an exclusive interview with Taqrib News Agency (TNA) said one of the best times to boost Shia Sunni unity is the great congregation of Hajj when all Muslims, uniformly clad, gather for Hajj pilgrimage.

He added,” Hajj is a great opportunity to be used for Islamic proximity, particularly for the conferences held by Iran’s Hajj bureau, particularly when prominent international figures attend these conferences to discuss their views on unifying principles of Islam.”

Member of the National Security and Foreign Policy Committee at Parliament added,” In my view one of the best times to open Islamic proximity discussions is the great congregation of Hajj.”

One of the biggest religious gatherings in the world, Hajj is underway in Islam’s first important city, Mecca.
