An Iranian MP highlighted the role of clerics for the present situation in Egypt and noted moderation as the solution for the crisis in the country.

Nozar Shafi’ee, Member of National Security and Foreign Policy Commission in Iran’s Parliament, in an exclusive interview with Taqrib News Agency (TNA), stressed the effective role of religious elites as a reference amid for a the current situation and noted the society will move towards moderation if religious leaders follow the path of moderation.
Iranian MP said,” Egypt is passing a period of transition when moving from one order to another one is accompanied by some disorder which is dubbed as “cataclysmic” adding, “Therefore, present events and the clashes is a quite natural part of the process and it is the clashes and chaos that leads Egypt to moderation.”
He also stressed moderation as the solution for present situation in Egypt and said,” Firstly all Egyptian sides have to balance their demands and then approve democracy as a principle.”
Shafi’ee added, “Extremist Muslim Brotherhood and Nationalist party have to move in line with realities of Egyptian society.”
Iranian MP reiterated the role of religious clerics in finalizing the present situation in Egypt and noted,” Clerics and religious figures are quite influential on the current situation in Egypt and that if they lead the society towards peace and moderation then all people will follow them.”
