Islamic Revolution facilitated ideological confrontation with Takfir
Spokesman of Iraq’s Dar-ul-Ifta said the Islamic Revolution in Iran provided the grounds for the Muslim scholars and elites to confront the ideologies of Takfiri (excommunication) thoughts and groups.

Sheikh Amer Hussein Taha al-Bayati, top Iraqi Sunni cleric, in an interview with Taqrib News Agency (TNA) conducted on the eve of the 44th anniversary of Islamic Revolution referred to Islamic solidarity and materialization of a unified Islamic ummah as a fundamental thought brought forth after victory of the historic revolution.
He said,” This school belongs to the Islamic thoughts by Muslim reformists who intend to boost unity in the Islamic community” adding the key role played by World Forum for Proximity of Islamic Schools of Thought.
Al-Bayati in response to the question on the way Islamic Revolution has contributed to the high objectives of the Muslim world highlighted the giant steps taken by the Islamic Republic in line with regional security and stability.
He said,” The Islamic Revolution of Iran set its objectives and endeavors upon unifying the Muslim nation and interests of the entire world of Islam which are all supportive of the objectives of the holy religion, Islam.”
Dar-ul-Ifta spokesman related on responsibility of the Muslim scholars to materialize the objectives of Islamic Revolution and countering Takfir.
He counted ideological confrontation with hostile projects and alerting the Muslims, particularly the younger generation as the mission upon clerics and warned of plots targeting unity among Muslims.
“Islamic Revolution in Iran, since its early days, rose against Takfiri ideologies and provided the grounds for scholars and elites to stand against Takfiri thoughts” Sheikh Amer Hussein Taha al-Bayati said.
Senior Iraqi Sunni scholar made the comments on threshold of the 44th anniversary of the victory of Islamic Revolution in Iran marked on February 11.
