Deputy of the grand mufti of Dagestan hailed the Islamic Republic of Iran for special attention on Islamic unity and the Sunni community living in the country.

Shahab-eddin Mohammad Habib Husseinov, deputy of Dagestan grand mufti in an interview with Taqrib News Agency (TNA) highlighted the positive outcomes of Islamic unity conferences on building solidarity among Muslims.
He said,” To hold such meetings in Sunni-inhibited area of Golestan Province illustrates the respect by the Supreme Leader and Iranian nation for the religious minority group.”
Shahab-eddin Mohammad Habib Husseinov said his participation in the second Regional Islamic Unity Conference meant to voice support for proximity among Islamic denominations.
“ Solidarity among Muslims boosts the power in entire world of Islam” said the deputy of Dagestan mufti and added,” Once Muslims are united no power can stand against them.”
Husseinov said,” Muslim clerics and all Islamic denominations call for solidarity. All of us, Shias and Sunnis, are Muslim and should confront the US and western countries in a united body.”
He stressed,” We condemn extremism and violence, hail fraternity and stand against western plots to expand division in our country.”
The religious figure from the Republic of Dagestan made the comments in an interview conducted on the sideline of the second Regional Islamic Unity Conference held by World Forum for Proximity of Islamic Schools of Thought in Iran’s northern city of Gorgan.
