“We, in the Islamic Republic of Iran, are claimants of unity in the world of Islam.” said Ayatollah Taskhiri and added,” Here we announce our preparation for cooperation with all Muslim countries to realize Islamic proximity.”

Iranian cleric also touched upon the stress by the late founder of Islamic Revolution and the Supreme Leader to maintain unity and respecting Sunni sanctities and said, “Supreme Leader of the Islamic Revolution have stressed that he who desecrates the sanctities of other denominations is a puppet of the arrogant powers and is away from the features for a true Muslim.”

He concluded with hopes that scholars from both countries can cooperate to stand against Takfiri movements.

Elshad Iskandarov, in this meeting, lauded the religious activities of Islamic Republic in Azerbaijan and expressed hope that his country will benefit the experiences of Iran in the field of publishing religious books.
