Afghan capital of Kabul hosts international conference stressing necessity of cooperation among Islamic countries.

Attended by representatives from Islamic Republic of Iran, Pakistan, Saudi Arabia, Egypt, Turkey, Indonesia, Malaysia, Bangladesh and India international conference with the theme of “Islam and Peace” was held to discuss solutions for the issues in Muslim countries, prevention of tension, war, violence and hatred, reported Taqrib News Agency (TNA).
Salah el Din Rabbani, Head of the Supreme Committee of Peace in Afghanistan, stressed importance of cooperation among Muslim states to prevail peace and stability in Afghanistan.
He referred to the neutral stance of Muslim scholars in regards to clashes in Afghanistan and demanded clerics to announce their views clearly.
Abdulrab Rasoul Sayyaf, a religious figure from Afghanistan criticized Taliban saying that the group is fighting to disrepute Islam and noted,” Afghan nation is confronting a global intrigue and they cannot bear any more of suicide attacks and killing of civilians.”
He reiterated that the main provocation behind suicide attacks in Afghanistan is from a foreign source and those who commit suicide, do not know Islam’s statement on that.
Afghan President Hamid Karzay in a message to “Islam and Peace” conference stating that,” It is a pity that both the killer and the killed in this war call themselves Muslims because that makes the situation more complex and has paved the way for intervention of foreign countries.”
Secretary General of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) Ekmeleddin Ihsan Uglu highlighted cooperation of Islamic countries to prevail sustained peace in Afghanistan.
Mohammad Bashir Itad, representative of Saudi Arabia in his speech said,” Although there are several problems in Muslim countries, domestic clashes and vain disagreements provide the best opportunity for the enemies.”
