Deputy of the Supreme Leader of the Islamic Republic of Iran in the northeastern province of Khorasan, Ayatollah Abbas Vaezi Tabasi in a meeting with the foreign university students participating in the International Qur'an competition said," Once the message of Qur'an is fulfilled, people can strive for approaching each other's heart, making progress in science and exchanging their views on cultural issues, reported Taqrib News Agency (TNA).
In this meeting that was also attended by Mahmoud Salahi , governor of Razavi Khorasan and Abul Ainan Shu aisha, Egyptian master of Qur'an recitation, Iranian senior cleric referred to the importance of introducing the holy Qur'an to the world countries and said,"One should not feel to be in need once he understands Qur'an."
"Invitation to read the Qur'an leads to the invitation to the most outstanding thoughts and civilizations", said the member of the expediency council highlighting the point that the holy Qur'an guides people towards rationality, thinking, learning sciences and getting to know scientific, philosophical and intellectual approaches.
He also noted that no other intellectual school has invited one to learning and knowing sciences as much as Islam and said that Islam wanted the science at the service of developing the societies so that they achieved independence.
" That is the very reason Islam has an opposite stance to the arrogant powers for whom science is only a means of oppressing humanity and quench their own whims, " the Ayatollah continued.
Deputy of the Supreme Leader in Khorasan Province said," Inspired by the holy Qur'an and the path of Imam Hussein (AS) and the household of the Prophet Mohammad (PBUH), Islamic Republic of Iran has made it to form a system based on justice, respect to humanity, unity, intimacy and fraternity."
The international Qur'an competitions of the university students id held in the northeastern city of Mashhad between 9-11 January.
