Army keeping Kashmir with India: BJP
Opposing any troop-cut in Kashmir, BJP’s state wing Tuesday said the presence of armed forces is keeping J&K under India’s control and the State would be occupied by China, Pakistan and Afghanistan if left otherwise.

Deliberating on Government of India’s move to reduce 25 per cent troops in J&K, BJP’s state wing president Shamsher Singh Manhas said, “It is an open fact that India’s administration over Jammu and Kashmir is based on presence of armed forces here. So if there is troop-cut then neighbours like China Pakistan and Afghanistan won’t sit silent. Such decision will prove detrimental to the integrity of India.”

Talking to a local news gathering agency, KMN, Singh said China’s intentions regarding India are known to everybody and there is danger from Pakistan side also. “Decision of reducing troops in J&K is not acceptable at this point of time. It would be a grave mistake,” he said.

Singh said grant of six month long permission pass to people intending to visit Pakistan is based on cordial relation between the two countries but till date such relation has not been possible.

He alleged that National Conference led government in J&K has failed at every front and that entire opposition is aware of this. “NC should pay attention to public grievances. As far as BJP’s flag hoisting programme is concerned, I would say that J&K is part of India and any citizen of India can hoist the flag anywhere,” he said.

Asked about the motive behind hoisting Indian tricolor at Lal Chowk, Singh said, “It is politically motivated and there is spirit of patriotism as well. We have an important role to play in state politics as BJP has won the assembly elections by a margin of 30000 votes compared to 300 vote margin of NC”.
