“The Syrian priest who had come to Najaf city in Iraq to participate in the conference of Proximity among Islamic schools of thought went to Karbala on foot, according to Tarib News Agency (TNA).

Maan Bitar passed all the distance between Karbala and Najaf along with other Muslims on foot and reached to Karbala, the shrine of the third Shia leader Imam Hussein (AS) just one day ahead of Arbaeen.

“This is the first time that I visit Karbala,” he said and underscored,” to me this cite is very important.”

“I have dreamed of visiting the land many years ago,” he mentioned and went on,” this city improved more than what I imagined but the signs of tragic event of Ashura still can be seen around the Holy shrine of Imam Hossein (PBUH).

He pointed to the conference that was held in Najaf and said,” This is the first and the most important step that has been taken to make unity and proximity among different religions in Iraq.”

On the premise of Arbaeen, Karbala hosts millions of pilgrims that come to visit holy shia shrines.
