Afghan cleric hails unifying efforts of Ayatollah Taskhiri, interfaith ties in Afghanistan

Ayatollah Mohammad Hashem Salehi Modarres, president of Afghanistan Shia Scholars' Council, in a phone call to Iranian top cleric hailed the fraternal ties between the Shia and Sunni communities in Afghanistan, reported Taqrib News Agency (TNA).
He stressed efforts of Afghanistan Shia clerics to maintain fraternal ties with Sunni scholars and spare no effort in promoting the solidarity.
Afghan cleric also slammed the "shameful" US-brokered agreement between the United Arab Emirates (UAE) and Israeli regime to normalize ties between the two states and said," This agreement is a green light for other countries to interfere in the world of Islam."
Hujjat-ul-Islam Shahriari warned of enemies targeting solidarity between Shia and Sunni and different ethnicities.
He expressed hope that endeavors of Muslim scholars in Afghanistan will lead to prevalence of peace across the country.
He invited Ayatollah Mohammad Hashem Salehi Modarres to attend the Islamic Unity Conference 2020 which is to be held in an online event due to the new coronavirus outbreak.
