Freedom of expression is different from desecration of sanctities and these desecrators should be asked if they are allowed to disrespect French authorities under the same pretext.

Hujjat-ul-Islam Javad Shabestari, representative of people in the Iranian province of West Azerbaijan in the Assembly of Experts stressed that repetition of sacrilegious behavior by French magazine, Charlie Hebdo, manifests desperation of the pro-west people in tolerating Islam and Muslims, reported Taqrib News Agency (TNA).
 
He slammed inaction by so-called claimants of freedom in regards to sacrilege of Prophet Mohammad (PBUH) and said,” These claimants, who are silent against desecration of Islamic sanctities, are silent because they are concerned over promotion of Islam in the world.”
 
Iranian MP stressed,” Freedom of expression is different from desecration of sanctities as these desecrators should be asked if they are allowed to disrespect French authorities under the same pretext.”
 
Hujjat-ul-Islam Shabestari reiterated that condemnation of the sacrilegious behavior and reacting against Charlie Hebdo is a mission for all liberal nations across the world.
 
He noted that disrespecting Islamic sanctities is one the rise due to increasing inclinations to the holy religion and endeavors of the perpetrators to divert the public minds from Islam.
 
Hujjat-ul-Islam Javad Shabestari made the comments in reaction to the French weekly, Charlie Hebdo reprinting a cartoon disrespecting Prophet Mohammad (PBUH).
