Al Azhar grand mufti vows to sue desecration of Islamic sanctities
Sheikh Ahmad al-Tayyeb, grand mufti of Al Azhar has rejected any desecration of Prophet Mohammad (PBUH) and vowed that the academy will pursue those behind that in the international courts.

Top Egyptian cleric made the comments in a meeting with French Foreign Minister, Jean Yves Le Drian, on Sunday stressing that any desecration of prophet of Islam, under the pretext of practicing freedom of expression, is rejected, reported Taqrib News Agency (TNA).
Egyptian scholar said,” He who desecrates our prophet will be sued in the international courts even if we spend our entire life on that.”
Top Sunni scholar also rejected any relation between Islam and terrorism as, "We refuse to describe terrorism as Islamic," and added,” that terrorists do not represent us, and we are not responsible for their actions."
The visit by French Foreign Minister is reportedly meant to ease tensions following the reprinting of derogatory cartoons desecrating Prophet Mohammad (PBUH) by French satirical magazine Charlie Hebdo and French President Emanuel Macron’s support for the Islamophobic campaign in the country.
