6th World Halal Summit has opened in the Turkish capital of Istanbul as academicians and Fiq'h experts gather to discuss the theme of “Halal for All: Halal in All Aspects, from Production to Consumption” and exchange views on the Halal market.

Halal Market addresses nearly two billion Muslims which comprise 24 per cent of world population and the summit is to discuss over $ 4 trillion halal market which is expected to reach 7 trillion in the next decade, reported Taqrib News Agency (TNA).
Ihsan Ovut, secretary general of the Standards and Metrology Institute for Islamic Countries (SMIIC) announced that the institute is pursuing its studies on halal pharmacy, halal animal products and halal test materials.
The world's largest halal event is held by Standards and Metrology Institute for Islamic Countries (SMIIC) in collaboration with the Discover Events on behalf of the Islamic Center for Development of Trade (ICDT) on Wednesday along a virtual halal fair, E-Halal Expo, which will take place online on Wednesday and Thursday.
Ovut also stressed efforts "to bring together halal and standardization under a professional roof."
According to Zafer Soylu, head of the Halal Accreditation Agency the halal economy has a value of $4 trillion and that the importance of halal products is increasing on a global scale.
He referred to the background of SMIIC active since 2010 and noted that all Muslim-majority countries need to unite in terms of following a common system in this regard.
6th World Halal Summit has convened dignitaries and experts from across the globe to discuss “Halal for All: Halal in All Aspects, from Production to Consumption” at the Pullman Convention Center in Istanbul.
