Emphasizing that all the US acts of lawlessness are in “full show,” the ministry said, “#Iran won't rest until bringing those responsible to justice.”

January 3 marks the first anniversary of the US assassination of General Soleimani, the former commander of the Quds Force of Iran’s Islamic Revolution Guards Corps (IRGC). He was admired as the Middle East's most potent counter-terrorism commander, with a unique charisma.

He was Iran’s lead military advisor helping Iraq and Syria defeat foreign-backed Takfiri terrorists, chiefly Daesh.

General Soleimani was martyred in a US drone strike outside Baghdad International Airport during an official visit. His Iraqi trenchmate Abu Mahdi al-Muhandis, deputy head of Iraq’s Popular Mobilization Units (PMU), was also killed along with their other companions when their convoy was hit.

The cowardly act of terror was carried out under the direction of US President Donald Trump, with the Pentagon taking responsibility for the strike.

In a phone call with President of Iraq’s Supreme Judicial Council Faiq Zidan on Tuesday, Iran’s Judiciary Chief Ebrahim Raeisi said those involved in the assassination of General Soleimani will be justly punished without any discrimination.

“The carrying out of justice without any discrimination and exception is the Islamic Republic of Iran’s certain policy regarding the punishment of those who gave the orders, their accomplices and the assassins in the terrorist move in [the Iraqi capital of] Baghdad last year,” Raeisi said.
