Iranian Foreign Minister Mohammad Javad Zarif lauded the endeavors of his former advisor, late Hussein Sheikh-ul-Islam on the first passing anniversary of the cultural and political figure.

Top official lauded the political and religious endeavors by late Sheikh-ul-Islam in the webinar titled "Ambassador of Unity and Resistance" held by the World Forum for Proximity of Islamic Schools of Thought on the first passing anniversary of Iran's former ambassador to Syria and Lebanon, reported Taqrib News Agency (TNA).
He praised late Sheikh-ul-Islam for fighting for his beliefs and his endeavors to elevate Islam, Iran and the Islamic revolution.
Foreign Minister Zarif highlighted the brilliant background and supportive stance of late Sheikh-ul-Islam for the resistance movement and his perfect understanding of the political changes across the globe.
"His name is quite popular in Syria and Lebanon as he has served as one of our most successful envoys to both countries" said Mohammad Javad Zarif and underlined the late ambassador's efforts for boosting solidarity between Iran and the Arab states he represented Iran in.

Serving as the international deputy of World Forum for Proximity of Islamic Schools of Thought, Hussein Sheikh-ul-Islam passed away due to the new coronavirus on March 5, 2020.
