Protesters in the Nigerian capital of Abuja held protest rally in support of Sheikh Zakzaky on Friday demanding immediate release of the prominent Shia leader and his wife.

Nigerian protesters, a number of them Friday prayers joining the rally following the communal prayer called for immediate release of the prominent Shia cleric and his wife who have been in detention in the past five years, reported Taqrib News Agency (TNA).

Kaduna State High Court will announce the verdict for Sheikh Zakzaky and his wife Zeenat on July 29.
Leader of the Islamic Movement of Nigeria and his wife have been in jail since 2015 while nearly 200 other members of the movement were detained in December after fatal attack of the police on a mourning gathering.
