Mike Pomepo made the remarks in the annual meeting of the Mujahedin Khal Organization (MKO) calling on the anti-Iran terrorist organization to continue fight against the Islamic Republic by all means possible, reported Taqrib News Agency (TNA).
One of the US most hostile politicians against the Islamic Republic in his speech at the video call addressing the MKO meeting in Berlin said,” We should continue our support for Iranian nation’s fight for a free democratic Iran.
Former secretary of state criticized Biden administration for pursuit of talks with Iran and called the efforts to lift sanctions and rejoining the 2015 nuclear talks as a strategic mistake.
He urged for continuation of economic pressures against Iran within the framework of maximum pressure policy.
He claimed that the sanctions and pressures imposed under the administration of former US president Donald Trump should be set as the role model in order to guarantee the security of American and Iranian nation.
This is while Mike Pompeo in his earlier remarks had stated that Donald Trump administration had not achieved its objectives in regards to the Islamic Republic of Iran.
On the other hand the majority of US political experts and think tanks have agreed that Washington’s maximum pressure against Iran has had no result but poverty of the Iranian average class and direct economic pressure on the people.
A group of US lawmakers had also scheduled to address the three-day MKO meeting.
