Over 170 schools destroyed in Afghanistan conflict
Afghanistan Ministry of Education announced 176 schools were destroyed during the recent months of conflict between Taliban militants and the government forces.

Attaullah Wahidyar, deputy Minister of Education, announced in a presser that 176 schools were destroyed during the recent clashes between the government forces and Taliban militants, reported Taqrib News Agency (TNA).
He stressed that schools should not be used as sanctuary calling on the government to take measures in line with protecting schools since the country has joined the Safe Schools Declaration.
He said lack of data on the number of possible casualties among students during the past months of clashes in Afghanistan.
According to a previous survey by the Ministry of Education nearly four million Afghan students have been deprived of education due to the war and insecurity in the country.
