Pakistan hosts conference to prepare for Muharram ceremonies
A number of Pakistani Shia scholars have held conference to discuss the necessary preparations for the second Muharram to be held amid COVID-19 conditions.

Allameh Raja Nazir Abbas, head of the Muslim unity council confirmed that the Muharram 2021 ceremonies will be publically held across Pakistan announcing the final agreement made in a conference attended by Shia scholars on Monday, reported Taqrib News Agency (TNA).
Participants in this conference called on Pakistani government to provide the security and necessary grounds for mourning ceremonies of Muharram 2021 annually marked across the Indian peninsula.
Pakistan has held another conference in Karachi recently participated by representative of the government and religious scholars in order to discuss the necessary measures to be taken for mourning ceremonies of Muharram.
Shia scholars called on the government to take the necessary measures in line with the health protocols amid the COVID-19 and encourage the Pakistani citizens to receive vaccine ahead of the ceremonies.
Muslims across the globe particularly Shia community is preparing to mark the mourning ceremonies of Muharram and martyrdom anniversary of Imam Hussein (AS), the third Shia Imam and grandson of Prophet Mohammad (PBUH).
