Iran calls on Afghan warring sides to exercise restraint amid Panjshir clashes
Iran’s Foreign Ministry spokesman has urged Afghans to avoid violence amid heavy clashes between the Taliban members and resistance fighters led by Ahmad Massoud in Panjshir Valley.

Saeed Khatibzadeh, Iran’s Foreign Ministry spokesman has called on all Afghan sides in Panjshir Valley clashes to practice restraint and find the solution through negotiations.
Speaking to Iranian state news agency IRNA, Khatibzadeh said that lasting peace and stability in Afghanistan can only be achieved through intra-Afghan talks without the interference of foreign countries.
He warned Afghans of war and fratricide stressing that the country is tired of years of occupation, war and violence.
Saeed Khatibzadeh also denounced any interference of the foreign countries and said Afghans deserve a popular and inclusive government.
He noted,” Like the past 40 years, the Islamic Republic would stand by the people of Afghanistan in their efforts to achieve victory.”
