UK police have reported an arson attack taking place against Didsbury Mosque in Manchester late on Friday saying that no one was injured in the incident likely to be a hate crime, reported Taqrib News Agency (TNA).

An administration officer for the mosque has expressed gratitude for the neighbors helping to put out the blaze.

The mosque had reportedly received threats for arson attacks throughout years as some have practiced their threats to set the holy Islamic site on fire.

Tracy Pook, an administration of the mosque said,” Hate has no place in our society” adding,” We are going to carry on doing our projects and doing good for our community. That’s Islam, be good and show the goodness.”

The MP for Manchester Gorton, Afzal Khan also tweeted following the attack expressing concern on rising Islamophobic cases asking people to “stay vigilant” and report incidents to GMP and Tell Mama, a charity supporting victims of anti-Muslim hate.
