The refugees are mainly from Baghlan and Kunduz provinces which have been the ground for clashes between Taliban militants and forces from the ex-government.
Refugees have set up tents in a public park at an entrance to the capital Kabul cramped with tents and people who have fled their towns under the Taliban control.
Some people do not have even a tent, the report says, as lack of food and water is a complaint by all refugees.
This is while those who were able to flee the country following Taliban takeover have spared no time to pack a handful of belongings and leave Afghanistan.
