The religious and cultural commonalities of Iran and Kurdistan Region can be used in line with boosting the cooperation and materialization of unified Islamic nation.

Hujjat-ul-Islam Hamid Shahriari, Secretary General of Iran’s World Forum for Proximity of Islamic Schools of Thought met with the Salahuddin Muhammad bahuddin, Secretary General of Iraqi Kurdistan Islamic Union on Tuesday exchanging views on conceptual models of an Islamic union, reported Taqrib News Agency (TNA).
Hujjat-ul-Islam Shahriari stressed importance of cooperation in scientific, cultural and scholarly capabilities of the two Islamic institutions calling for applying the capabilities for materialization and boosting an Islamic union.
The cleric highlighted the perfect religious, cultural and tourism potentialities between Iran and the Kurdistan Region.
“Religious, cultural and ethnical differences have always existed though we should maintain tolerance and culture of disagreement” said Hujjat-ul-Islam Shahriari.
According to the Secretary General of World Forum for Proximity of Islamic Schools of Thought, the solution for disagreement does not lead to murder, looting, terror, clashes or war rather a logical solution should be sought to prevent the plague.
Hujjat-ul-Islam Shahriari also slammed the normalization of ties with Israeli regime, as practiced by some Islamic states, and said,” To sow division among Muslims has always been the key policy of Israeli regime and this regime, ever since its formation, has spared no effort to divide the world of Islam.”
Secretary General of Iraqi Kurdistan Islamic Union hailed the coexistence of different Islamic denominations in the Iraqi Kurdistan Region.
He called Islamic unity as an important global demand and hailed the key role of Islamic Republic of Iran as a pioneer of solidarity among Muslims.
