Supreme Leader calls Palestine as major scale for unity
Supreme Leader of Islamic Republic, Ayatollah Seyyed Ali Khamenei, mentioned "explaining and promotion of Islam in all aspects of life" and "boosting Islamic solidarity" as two important missions upon the Muslim nation.

The Leader, in a meeting with Iranian government officials and participants to the 35th International Islamic Unity Conference called Islamic unity a fundamental issue and a Qur'anic obligation stressing that materialization of a new Islamic civilization is impossible without Shia Sunni unity, reported Taqrib News Agency (TNA).
Ayatollah Khamenei offered congratulations on the auspicious birth anniversary of Prophet Mohammad (PBUH) and Imam Sadiq (AS), sixth Shia Imam and grandson of the prophet of Islam and highlighted "To fulfill the universal right of Islam" and "solidarity of Muslims" two of the most important responsibilities for Islamic nation.
The Leader said," Since past, world powers have insisted on introducing Islam not as a comprehensive religious which has a program for all aspects of human life but to confine it in the individual behaviors and beliefs in an effort to theorize it from the view point of the writers and intellectuals and persuade others that Islam is neither a theoretical reference nor a practical guideline for important issues including "building civilizations and management of societies", "economy and power sharing", "war and peace", "domestic and international diplomacy" and also "establishment of justice and confrontation with oppression and rebels."
Ayatollah Khamenei stressed that to explain the comprehensiveness of Islam in all aspect is the mission upon scholars, intellectuals, researchers and professors across the world of Islam.
The Leader named prominent proximity figures including late Ayatollah Mohammad Ali Taskhiri, late Ayatollah Vaez Zadeh, Sheikh Mohammad Ramezan al-Bouti, Seyyed Mohammad Baqer Sadr, late Sheikh Ahmad al-Zein as well as late Sheikh Saeed Sha'ban as the leading and diligent figures in the Islamic unity arena.
Supreme Leader referred to Islamic unity as an obligation and a Qur'anic order and said," Islamic solidarity is a fundamental issue and not a tactical or occasional concern" adding that," The convergence of Muslims will empower the Islamic nation so that they appear capable in interaction with non-Islamic countries."
The Leader warned that the frequent emphasis on Islamic unity is due to the far distance between the Islamic denominations and serious endeavors of the enemies to widen this gap and stated," Today the terms Shia and Sunni has been added to the political terminology of the United States while they are hostile with Islam."
Ayatollah Khamenei expressed regret over the efforts by the United States and its pawns to hatch plots across the world of Islam and noted the recent tragic explosions in Afghanistan mosques as instances of such measures taken by Daesh while Americans had explicitly admitted that they masterminded Daesh terrorist group.
Supreme Leader of Islamic Revolution noted that the annual Islamic unity conventions would not suffice and called for more studies, discussions and permanent schedules to pursue that.
The Leader noted that to fulfill the key objective, building new Islamic civilization, is impossible without solidarity of Shias and Sunnis and added," The key scale for unity of Muslims is the issue of Palestine and the more seriously we pursue the issue of Palestine the more we strengthen Islamic solidarity."
Ayatollah Khamenei denounced some regional countries for normalization of ties with Israeli regime as a serious mistake and a sin emphasizing," These governments should retract from the mistake and their anti-solidarity act and compensate for the mistake they made.
Supreme Leader of Islamic Republic explained his views on the issues challenging the world of Islam and also the ways to boost solidarity among Muslims in a meeting with participants of the 35th International Islamic Unity Conference on Sunday concurrent with the birth anniversary of Prophet Mohammad (PBUH).
The 35th Islamic Unity Conference on the theme of "Islamic Unity, Peace and Avoidance of Division and Conflict in the World of Islam" was held on October 19-24.
