Muslim cleric defines theory of unity in plurality
Ayatollah Ahmad Moballeghi, a member of the Assembly of Experts said renovation of thought and literature on proximity of Islamic schools of though is required for elaborating the relationship between proximity with entities, social phenomenon and various segments of Islamic Unity.

According to Taghrib News Agency (TNA), Ayatollah Moballeghi speaking at the conference titled “Renovation of Thought and Literature on Proximity of Islamic Schools of thought” held on the occasion of Islamic Unity Week, underlined the importance of the University of Religions and Denomination as the most important center for breading and producing thought in relation to Islamic denominations and the relationship among them.
He said, "Today we are faced with two topics: first literature and its production and development and second generation of theories and their development."
The former Chancellor of the University of Religions and Denominations said," proximity is a very important and wide range social question" adding that," All children of the noble Prophet of Islam (PBUH) should have cordial and close relations with each other and whenever there is division, we should use proximity mechanisms to narrow the gap."
He then talked about his new theory of “unity in plurality” and said he has taken his theory from the teachings of the holy Quran and added by this theory he means that there is plurality in the realm of religion and we should not try to eliminate this pluralism and should consider this diversity of denominations in a holistic manner as a unified entity.
Member of Iran's Assembly of Experts made the remarks in webinar on the last day of the 35th International Islamic Unity Conference held by World Forum for Proximity of Islamic Schools of Thought on "Islamic Unity, Peace and Avoidance of Division and Conflict in the World of Islam."
