Cleric raps arrogant powers for efforts to merge other cultures

Hujjat-ul-Islam Hamid Shahriari, Secretary General of World Forum for Proximity of Islamic Schools of Thought attended the 110^th meeting of the cultural council in Kurdistan in part of his three-day visit to the Iranian western province and slammed the arrogant powers for endeavors to dominate and merge other cultures into western liberal culture, reported Taqrib News Agency (TNA).

He said,” The arrogant world approves merely of its liberal culture and endeavors to use the media and other means to merge and dominate other cultures.

The cleric noted,” The same arrogant hegemony has occurred in India and Turkey while the language and writing alphabet in these countries was Persian 150 years ago.”

He referred to plans for globalization that challenges the culture and traditions for world countries.

Hujjat-ul-Islam Shahriari noted that the cultural councils should confront such efforts for globalization and added,” We do not basically oppose globalization but to move towards globalization is challenging.

The cleric added,” To protect ethnical identity is acceptable and is counted as a value but we object sectarianism and the ethnical groups which feels superior to others or undervalues other ethnical groups.

Hujjat-ul-Islam Shahriari said,” We oppose Anglicizing the culture though we do not object learning the language or other foreign languages.”

He added,” The liberal culture which has penetrated among the youth is the same arrogant hegemony which aims to annihilate the culturs.”
