Sudanese stage rally against military rule

People in various parts of Khartoum State, including Khartoum Bahri north of the Sudanese capital, took to the streets to protest against the military rule.
Sudanese stage rally against military rule
The Sudanese people oppose the military presence in power and take to the streets almost every week, emphasizing the withdrawal of the military from power and calling for the formation of a democratic government in their country.
Demonstrators in Khartoum Bahri on Saturday evening once again condemned the military coup by Army Chief-Commander Abdel Fattah al-Burhan and called for an end to the military rule in Sudan.
The Sudanese military used sound bombs and tear gas to disperse protesters, injuring hundreds, including young protesters.
The demonstrators stressed that Sudan's political, economic, and security situation has worsened since the military coup and the failure to appoint a prime minister.
"We reject military coups and have come out to achieve the rule of law, citizenship and justice," one protester told Iran Press on Saturday evening.
"Our slogan is firm and the Sudanese people do not cooperate with the army and the military rule has no legitimacy," the Sudanese citizen underlined.
Another demonstrator told the Iran Press correspondent that the demonstrators aimed to support the Sudanese youth revolution and stand by it; he noted that all sections of the Sudanese people were present at the rally.
