Russian Ambassador says Moscow backing Tehran at BOG meeting
Russia's ambassador to Tehran has said that Moscow was defending Iran against a draft by Western countries for a resolution of the International Energy Agency's Board of Governors.

The four countries also said that "due to insufficient substantive cooperation by Iran", disputes and safeguards issues remained unresolved, and called on Iran to "E3 immediately accept the IAEA proposal for further engagement to clarify and resolve all outstanding safeguards issues."
Russian Ambassador to Iran Levan Dzhagaryan added that Russia has always stood by Iran and wants Iran to reach an agreement.
Talking about the seizure of an Iranian oil tanker by Greece in its territorial waters, which was recently ordered by the United States, Dzhagaryan also said: "They are thieves. Some time ago, they stole Russian money and now they have stolen Iranian oil."
On May 25, the Greek government seized an Iranian ship operating under the flag of the Islamic Republic off the coast of this country and confiscated its cargo in coordination with the US government.
