Lebanese Professor: unity gave Muslims strength against common enemy
Lebanese University Professor and Researcher, Dr. Raghida Al-Masri in his speech in the 66th Unity Conference noted that the unity and attention of Muslims to each other gave them strength in such a way that they put aside their differences and benefited from meeting each other and made a sensitive destiny.

I would like to congratulate you the Islamic Unity Week and the occasion of the birth of the Holy Prophet Muhammad (pbuh) and his grandson, Imam Jafar al-Sadiq (as). The Week of Unity is an Islamic occasion that brings together Muslims from different tribes and schools of thought and is a meeting place for people of the same religion to meet, and it is a meeting point that the Late Imam Khomeini presented this plan since the victory of the Islamic Revolution and continues until now; and Muslims seek their Islamic dreams and goals in it.
The Week of Unity is derived from the Holy Quran and the noble Prophetic tradition. In the Qur'an, God called the people to unity with the verse " فاعتصموا بحبل الله جمیعا و لا تفرقوا" so that with this prayer no more discord, division and distance will arise. Because discord is caused by following the whims and thoughts of certain people. The Unity Week plan was presented at a time when Muslims were in a state of discord, division and weakness; and despair and hopelessness had overcome the people. When the world of Islam was in the state of divided and discord, the Week of Unity was proposed to unite us all, especially since the Islamic Revolution had unified principles, standards and goals, and Ashura slogans such as "Every day is Ashura and everywhere is Karbala" and “No humiliation for us”. Then we saw how this invitation led to the liberation of the Holy sites; and Quds is one of the most important Holy places in Islamic belief and thoughts.
Before the victory of the Islamic Revolution, Imam Khomeini paid special attention to the issue of Quds and its liberation in such a way that he created an army of twenty million to liberate Quds; and the Islamic Resistance was the righteous fruit of the Islamic Revolution, whose slogan was to move and advance towards Quds, to conquer it, and liberate it from the hands of the enemies; and then, the fruits and results of this unity were borne and the hearts of Shia and Sunni Muslims united about Quds and achieved great victories and broke the bonds of the enemies and Zionists. We witnessed victories such as the liberation operation of the year 2000 and its reflection among the Palestinian brothers of Gaza. This unity and attention of Muslims to each other gave them strength in such a way that they put aside their differences and benefited from meeting each other and made a sensitive destiny. After all those years, we were able to form resistance countries against colonialist countries and crushed their global arrogance and tyranny. We destroyed the house of Israel, which is like a spider's house. The countries that brought the plan of the new Middle East to failure, those brothers are of one mind and they share the same opinion about the Holy Qur'an and the Prophetic Hadith; and with piety and insight, they formed a mountain of patience and strength to achieve great victories.
We hope that we will all pray in Quds-al-Sharif during Unity Week next year.
