Iranian forces arrest 5 terrorists linked to killing of Shia cleric

Five perpetrators of the assassination of Sajjad Shahraki, a Shia cleric and Friday prayer leader of a mosque in Zahedan, Sistan and Baluchestan Province, have been arrested.
The defendants accepted the links to counter-revolutionary groups abroad and hostile spy services in the initial confessions. They also confessed that they intended to continue terrorist acts against Shia and Sunni figures and sensitive places in Sistan and Baluchestan Province to simmering tension and wage religious conflict.
 
Earlier on November 3, the unidentified armed men killed a Shia cleric in charge of daily prayers at a mosque in Iran's Zahedan, Sistan and Baluchestan Province.
Shahraki had been shot in the head and chest and had succumbed to his wounds despite being transferred to the hospital.
