“The Israeli regime issued evacuation notices ordering 30 families in Jerusalem to evict their houses in the Arab Al-Sawahreh town southeast of Occupied Jerusalem,” SAFA news agency reported on Sunday.
It added that the head of the Committee for the Defense of East Jerusalem Lands Bassam Bahar asserted that the forcible expulsion of Palestinian families in Al-Sawahreh town aims at constructing the new settlement of Kadamat Zion between Abu Dis and Jabel Mukaber neighborhoods in Occupied Jerusalem.
“The settlement project aims at constructing three settlement buildings in addition to 420 new settlement units on Palestinian-owned lands in the town,” Bahar underlined, adding that the project comes as a prelude to linking all the settlements in Jerusalem.
Two months ago, the Israeli regime confiscated 16 dunums of Palestinian lands in Abu Dis and registered them in the names of the Jews who claimed they owned the lands since 1920.
