Al-Azhar to host exhibition of Qur’an manuscripts from Armenia
Al-Azhar University announced an exhibition of Qur’an manuscripts from Armenia to be held at the prestigious Islamic university in Egypt.

The Al-Azhar director, Sheikh Ahmed el-Tayyeb made the announcement in a meeting in Cairo with the visiting Armenian Foreign Minister Ararat Mirzoyan on Wednesay, Youm7.com website reported.
During the meeting, Mirzoyan said his country possesses rare manuscripts of the Holy Quran and other Islamic texts.
He suggested holding an exhibition of the manuscripts at Al-Azhar, an idea which was welcomed by Sheikh el-Tayeb.
Mirzoyan also stressed his country’s belief in the importance of religious tolerance, respect for religions and religious freedom.
He said Armenia is keen to benefit from Al-Azhar’s experiences in holding interfaith dialogues.
The two sides also discussed religious and cultural cooperation for promotion of the culture of religious tolerance.
They also talked about the latest developments in the South Caucasus and efforts to establish peace in the region.
