Greek Orthodox church hails Muslim-Christian coexistence among Palestinians

A Greek Orthodox delegation visiting the Palestinian resistance movement has hailed the unity of Muslims and Christians for solidarity behind the “joint cause” of Palestine.

The Palestinian resistance movement, Hamas has received a Greek Orthodox delegation, headed by Archbishop Alexios of the Church of Saint Porphyrius in Gaza on Sunday evening.
 
Received by member of Hamas Political Bureau in Gaza, Basem Naim, along with a number of Hamas officials, the delegation that included Father Silas, pastor of Gaza's Orthodox Church, conveyed their congratulations on the advent of the Eid al-Fitr.
 
Naim welcomed such an important visit, conveying the Hamas leadership's regards to the Palestinian Christians. 
 
"Our Palestinian people are sending a message to the whole world that they are capable of presenting a model of co-existence between Muslims and Christians," Naim added.  
 
Archbishop Alexios, for his part, hailed the co-existence between all segments of the Palestinian people.
 
Meanwhile, Father Silas said that such a visit "confirms that we, as Palestinians, whether Muslims or Christians, are united behind a joint cause."
