In a telephone call, the foreign ministers of the Islamic Republic of Iran and Iraq condemned the insult to the Holy Quran in Sweden.

The Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Islamic Republic of Iran Hossein Amir-Abdollahian, and the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Iraq Fuad Hussein called the insult to the Quran an insult to rationality and freedom of speech.

 Amir-Abdollahian and Fuad Hussein also condemned the irresponsible behavior of the Swedish government and emphasized the necessity of holding a meeting of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation.
Earlier, in a letter to the Secretary General of the United Nations, Iran's Foreign Minister, while condemning the insult to the Holy Quran in Sweden, urged him to take the necessary measures in order not to repeat and prevent the dangerous consequences of the spread and continuation of this provocative act.
