Sunni scholar calls supporting essence of Islam common among Muslims
The presidential advisor on religious minority affairs called on all Muslims to maintain the essence of Islam which is common among all Islamic denominations.

Mamusta Abdul Salam Karimi, in his speech at the opening ceremony of the 3rd Regional Islamic Unity Conference held in Iran’s city of Urmia stressed importance of solidarity among Muslims and said,” Once we improve our beliefs, then our deeds will also improve”, reported Taqrib News Agency (TNA).
He said,” We should maintain the essence of religion which is shared among us all.”
Senior Sunni cleric said,” We are in need of a new fiq’h that maintains the benefits of entire Muslim world in accordance with the modern era” and added,” This new fiq’h should not differentiate between the different ethnicities.”
Mamusta Karimi counted holy Qur’an, Sunnah and other Islamic references in order to boost solidarity among Muslims.
Top Sunni cleric made the remarks at the opening of the 3rd Regional Islamic Unity Conference held by World Forum for Proximity of Islamic Schools of Thought in Urmia, West Azerbaijan.
A number of elites and religious figures from Russia, Turkey, Syria, Georgia and Iraq participate in the conference to discuss their views on the theme “Islamic Cooperation to Achieve Common Values”.
Attended by a number of Muslim elites from Iran and neighboring countries on the north, the second edition of the conference on unity in Muslim world discussed proximity of Muslims and modern Islamic civilization in the second phase of the Islamic revolution.
The regional conferences are in line with the Islamic Unity Conference annually held concurrent with the birth anniversary of Prophet Mohammad (PBUH).
