New general director of Imam Reza shrine appointed
The chief custodian of Imam Reza (AS) shrine, Hujjat-ul-Islam Ahmad Marvi has appointed Reza Khorakian as the new general director of the complex.

Hujjat-ul-Islam Marvi, in his decree to the new general director, referred to the spiritual position of the holy shrine as a hub for promoting the teachings of Quran and Ahl al-Bayt (AS), reported Taqrib News Agency (TNA).
Located in Iran’s northeastern city of Mashhad, the holy shrine of Imam Reza (AS), eighth Shia Imam and grandson of Prophet Mohammad (PBUH) is the destination for millions of pilgrims and tourists from across the globe.
Also, in his decree to Reza Khorakian, the chief custodian enumerated the expected responsibilities and missions of the general director.
He counted: implementation of macro policies of the holy shrine, promoting pure Islamic teachings, employment of opinions of shrine’s Board of Trustees and Improving competencies of the staff and empowering human sources among these responsibilities for the new general director.
Hujjat-ul-Islam Marvi further reiterated: “Considering the holiness of this shrine, I expect you to take all your efforts to realize sublime pilgrimage, improve its effectiveness, and honor pilgrims.
With the majority of Iranians following Shia Islam, the holy site, is much respected and welcoming for the pilgrims from across the world.
