Palestinian women, narrators of resistance against Israeli regime

An Iranian university professor says the conflict between the resistance and Zionist regime is a war of narratives calling the Palestinian women as narrators of the war.

Zeynab Asgharian, university professor, researcher international affairs in her speech addressing the 16th international webinar on al-Aqsa Storm highlighted the high position of women in creating positive changes in their societies and also expanding the axis of resistance, reported Taqrib News Agency (TNA).
 
 
She said the way narratives are transmitted and how they are transmitted becomes particularly important.
 
 
She referred to the establishment of the Arab Women's Executive Committee and the Palestinian Women's National Political Movement, which were among the first to oppose the Balfour Declaration.
 
 
The Iranian analyst also referred to the process of Palestinian women joining the resistance and playing effective roles in different arenas from charity work to political activities since 1960s.
 
 
She hailed the Palestinian women as mothers of martyrs and the way they react to martyrdom of their children.
 
 
Zeynab Asgharian pointed out the Israeli and western efforts to present a negative image of the women in Palestinian society as a patriarchal community where women are underestimated and hailed Ahed Tamimi, Amal Abu Shamsa, Jamila Al-Shanti among thousands of Palestinian women fighters.
 
 The Iranian media activist said,” Shirin Abu Aqleh and Farah Omar, two Palestinian journalists, were martyred by the bullets of the soldiers of the Zionist regime” adding,” At one time, the Zionist regime could tell the Palestinian narratives of identity, land and resistance, but now, with the advent of social networks, Palestinian women can publish more and more of the realities of Palestine and their narratives for world people.”
 
The Iranian thinker and activist made the remarks in an address to the 16th webinar of al-Aqsa Storm held on Wednesday morning.
 
The 16th edition of the al-Aqsa Storm webinars as held by World Forum for Proximity of Islamic Schools of Thought was held on Wednesday as a number of female activists and thinkers expressed their views on the role of Palestinian women in more than seven decades of fight against occupation in the Palestinian lands.
 
A number of Muslim thinkers, intellectuals and political and religious figures from across the world of Islam exchanged views on the different aspects of the operation Al-Aqsa Storm and resistance axis during the past 15 webinars held since the outbreak of Israel’s genocidal war on the besieged Gaza.
