Leader allocates 20 bn rials to help free prisoners on occasion of Ramadan
The Leader of the Islamic Revolution, Ayatollah Sayyed Ali Khamenei, has allocated 20 billion rials for release of prisoners of unintentional crimes.

As a tradition on the occasion of the fasting month of Ramadan, officials and benefactors held a meeting to raise funds for release of the prisoners of unintentional crimes.
In March 2023, heads of the three branches of the government donated sums of money to help release prisoners of unintentional crimes.
President Ebrahim Raisi, Judiciary Chief Gholamhossein Mohseni-Ejei, and Parliament Speaker Mohammad-Baqer Qalibaf allocated a total of 8.6 billion rials (about $17,000) for the issue, IRNA reported.
Also, on the occasion of National Father’s Day, which fell on January 25 this year, a total of 534 prisoners of unintentional crimes were freed across the country.
On January 5, with the participation of altruists and benevolent people, a total of 2,548 prisoners of unintentional crimes were released from prisons nationwide.
