Iran foils terrorist attack on Sistan and Baluchistan province

A terrorist attack on police and military posts in Iran’s Southeastern province of Sistan and Baluchistan has been foiled and the eight terrorists involved in this attack have been killed, Iran’s Deputy Interior Minister for Security and Police Affairs said on Thursday.

Majid Mirahmadi said the Jaysh al-Adl terror group’s simultaneous terror attacks in Chabahar and Rask were completely foiled due to the alertness of security and law enforcement forces.

He said that all the terrorists involved in the attack were killed in the operation, and some six remaining terrorists in the cities of Chabahar and Rask are under complete siege by security forces and will be arrested or killed within hours.

Five security forces were killed in two simultaneous terrorist attacks by the Jaysh al-Adl terror group in two police and military posts in the cities of Rask and Chabahar on Wednesday night.

Jaysh al-Adl has conducted a number of similar attacks in the past months, some of them deadly. The group claimed responsibility for an attack in December on a police station in the city of Rask that killed at least 11 police officers. On January 10, another attack by the group on a police station in the same city killed a policeman.
