The protesters and families of captives held by Hamas resistance movement have issued a statement urging the Israeli prime minister Benjamin Netanyahu to choose between a ground invasion against the southern city of Rafah and a ceasefire deal with the resistance.
The new round of protests is triggered in response to a video that shows two of the Israeli captives urging Netanyahu to be flexible in negotiations with Hamas resistance movement.
The newly-released video shows prisoners warning that the ongoing Israeli attacks on Gaza pose a threat to their lives, already killed dozens of their compatriots.
One of the captives in the video called on Netanyahu’s government to be flexible in the negotiations over Gaza so that a deal can be reached soon.
Another captive addressed Israeli families, urging them to continue their pressure on the government to have them return home.
Pressure is mounting on the Israeli prime minister seven months into the regime’s genocidal war against the Gaza Strip, as the regime has failed to achieve its primary objectives, release of the captives and eliminating Hamas resistance movement.
More than 200 days into the US-backed killing campaign in the besieged Gaza Strip, nearly 34,400 Palestinians, most of them women and children, have lost their lives. The heart-wrenching images of the situation in Gaza has prompted worldwide rallies defying Israel’s “genocide” in the besieged territories.
