Mourners attend funeral procession underway in Tabriz
Thousands of people in Tabriz are paying tribute to the Friday prayer leader of Tabriz and governor of East Azarbaijan who were martyred in the Sunday helicopter crash in northwest Iran.

The ceremony is held a day after the Leader of the Islamic Revolution, Ayatollah Sayyed Ali Khamenei, prayed over the bodies of those martyred in the incident in Tehran, reported Taqrib News Agency (TNA).
The helicopter carrying President Raeisi, Foreign Minister, Hossein Amir-Abdollahian, Friday prayer leader of Tabriz, Ayatollah Sayyed Mohammad Ali Al-e Hashem, Malik Rahmati, the governor of East Azarbaijan province, Mahdi Mousavi head of the security team to Tabriz when it crashed in the mountainous area due to dense fog and poor weather.
The senior cleric, late Ayatollah Al-e Hashim will be laid to rest in Tabriz and the memorial service will be held in the afternoon same day.
A similar procession is held in the northeastern city of Birjand for the people to mark the services of President Raeisi who also represented them in the Assembly of Experts.
Hundreds of top officials, ambassadors and high ranking delegations have arrived from across the globe to pay tribute to the late president and the delegation of officials martyred in the helicopter crash.
