Leader calls for massive turnout, election of best qualified candidate for presidency
The Leader of the Islamic Revolution, Ayatollah Sayyed Ali Khamenei, has called on the Iranians for massive turnout in the upcoming presidential election set to be held on Friday June 28.

Ayatollah Khamenei made the remarks at a meeting with thousands of people from five provinces on Tuesday morning which marks the Eid al-Ghadir, reported Taqrib News Agency (TNA).
The Leader noted the upcoming Friday as a day when the Iranian nation is tested stressing elections as one of the instances that renders Islamic Republic as victorious over its enemies.
Ayatollah Khamenei said,” The enemies have been blaming us in any election with low turnout of the people” and added,” Anyone enthusiastic for a mighty country should participate in this election.”
The Leader emphasized that participation should not be confined to big cities but people in villages should also take part so that the Islamic Republic of Iran emerges proud.
Ayatollah Sayyed Ali Khamenei added that he who is capable of making the best of the opportunities and high capacities in the country is the most qualified for presidency.
“Islamic Republic of Iran has proved its capabilities to make advancements without assistance from foreigners” continued the Leader and noted,” I have always believed in interaction with all countries except for a couple of states.”
Ayatollah Khamenei called the hadith of Ghadir, which introduces Imam Ali (AS) as successor of Prophet Mohammad (PBUH), as a frequently quoted hadith approved in both Shia and Sunni references.
Ayatollah Sayyed Ali Khamenei stressed that Eid al-Qadir should not be set as a disagreement between Shia and Sunni.
According to the Leader the endeavors of innocent Imams, during 250 years of Islamic era, has been to expand Islamic lifestyle.
In this meeting which was held on Eid al-Qadir, the Leader also hailed the street festivals held on the auspicious occasion.
The Leader of the Islamic Revolution made the comments in a meeting with people from Markazi province, Chaharmahal and Bakhtiari province, North Khorasan province and a number of martyrs’ families and servants at Shah Cheragh shrine in Shiraz.
