Iran Stresses Legitimate Right to Defend National Sovereignty,Territorial Integrity

In a telephone call with the Minister of Foreign Affairs and Trade of Hungary, Iranian Acting Foreign Minister Ali Bagheri stressed the importance of maintaining stability and security in the region, condemning the Zionist regime's violation of the rules of international law and emphasizing the legitimate right of the Islamic Republic of Iran to defend its security, national sovereignty, and territorial integrity.

Bagheri further stressed: "If you review the history of the Zionist attacks on Gaza, you will see that the targets of the Israelis are mainly civilian areas, hospitals, residential houses, children, women and defenseless people."

Iran's top diplomat stated in this telephone call: "The act that the Zionists did recently is a violation of our national security and sovereignty and regional peace and stability, and for this reason, their action is considered a threat to international peace and security, and therefore it is necessary, in the face of the evil entity that acts is creating instability in the region, to stand up and take countermeasures according to international law so that the other side does not find the possibility of intensifying its aggressive actions in the region.
Péter Szijjártó, the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Hungary, while expressing his willingness and readiness to continue the dialogue between the two countries, stated: "We are extremely worried about what is happening to Lebanon and the process of escalation of tension that is going on in the region."
 
He emphasized: "The international community should do everything it can to prevent any escalation of tension and crisis, because these tensions can be considered a threat against Europe."
 
The Minister of Foreign Affairs and Trade of Hungary, while expressing his satisfaction with this telephone conversation, said: "We are following the developments in the region and we hope to witness the continuation of close consultations between the two countries."
