Iran paralympic team visits Imam Reza shrine ahead of departure for Paris
Iranian athletes qualified for the 2024 Paralympic games have visited the holy shrine of Imam Reza (AS) in the northeastern city of Mashhad ahead of departure for the French capital Paris.

Hujjat-ul-Islam Ahmad Marvi, the custodian of Imam Reza (AS) shrine, in this ceremony hailed the paralympic athletes as symbols of hope and perseverance, reported Taqrib News Agency (TNA).
He said,” Paralympic athletes prove that their determination can resolve the physical limitations as they perform much better than many other people.”
The senior cleric hailed the achievements of team Iran in 2024 Paris Olympic games and expressed hope that the country’s Paralympic team will also make great achievements in the upcoming event.
The custodian of Imam Reza (AS) shrine emphasized sports as the grounds for personal and moral growth of people and called on the athletes to nurture their spiritual development parallel with their physical capabilities and athletic skills.
Team Iran will attend the upcoming games with 65 athletes in ten different fields.
The 2024 Paris Paralympic games are scheduled to be begin on August 28 with 400,000 participants from 188 countries.
