“The occupation intelligence agency banned Samer Mutab from leaving the town of Al-Ram until Saturday and prevented him from visiting the graves of his father and mother in Jerusalem,” said Abu Asab. “He was also made to sign a personal bail bond worth 10,000 shekels [$2,706] and 3,000 shekels [$812] that he is required to pay if he participates in a celebration to welcome him or if fireworks are launched to celebrate his release.”
Samer Ghazi Mutab was arrested in 2001 and sentenced to 23 years in prison when he was 23 years old. His father died in 2009, and his mother died on 30 June, 50 days before the end of his sentence and his release. She had spent many long years waiting in the hope of greeting him upon his release.
