Arbaeen sends message of anti-oppression across globe
Hujjat-ul-Islam Lotfollah Eshraqi, in an interview with Taqrib News Agency (TNA) said participation in Arbaeen procession has its special hardships but to march the path to the holy city of Karbala is an opportunity to join voices in opposition with the contemporary oppressors in the world.

He said,” The message of Arbaeen is in fact a message of anti-oppression” and demanded,” Should we stand inactive while the enemies of Islam are moving forward?”

The cleric concluded,” Despite the fact that centuries have passed since martyrdom of Imam Hussein (AS), Muslim and non-Muslim nations across the globe are voicing opposition with the infanticide Zionists in support of the world oppressed nations.”

The remarks by the prominent Iranian cleric comes ahead of the major Shia ceremonies for Arbaeen that commemorates 40th day after the martyrdom of Imam Hussein (AS), the third Shia Imam and grandson of Prophet Mohammad (PBUH).

Millions of Shias from across the globe attend the annual Arbaeen procession in a show of solidarity and loyalty to the third Shia Imam who was martyred, together with his close companions and family members, in a fight against the tyrant ruler of his time, Yazid ibn Muawiyah.
