Full text of final statement of 38th Islamic Unity Conference

The participants to the 38^th edition of the conference published the final communique
With regards to the theme of the conference entitled “Islamic Cooperation to Achieve Common Values with Emphasis on Palestine Issue”.

Following is the full text of the communique issued by the scholars attending the event:

In the Name of God, the Beneficent, the Merciful

“O prophets! Indeed, this religion of yours is ˹only˺ one, and I am your Lord, so worship Me alone”

With the grace of God Almighty, the World Forum for Proximity of Islamic Schools of Thought held the 38^th Islamic Unity Conference on September 19-21 (15-17 Rabi al-Awwal 1446) with the theme “Islamic Cooperation to Achieve Common Values with Emphasis on Palestine Issue” with the Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian and a number of the most renowned scholars and thinkers from across the world of Islam in attendance.

This conference was held amid the sorrowful and desperate condition caused by the brutal crimes of the occupying Israeli regime in Gaza. On the one hand numerous assassination attacks targeting the resistance leaders and commanders and also genocide of the Palestinian civilians and on the other hand, support of the western countries for the crimes by Israeli regime, necessitate cooperation of the Islamic countries to materialize the common values of the Muslim nation.

The occupying Israeli regime backed by the US-led world arrogant powers is seeking two projects:

First, occupation of all Palestinian lands, massacre of the innocent children, women and the elderly and prevention of supplies of humanitarian aids reach Gaza, cutting of water, electricity and displacement of more than two million civilians in the besieged Gaza Strip.

Second, legalizing itself by normalizing its relations with the Islamic countries.

It is hoped that the Muslim countries can prevent materialization of the evil objectives through cooperation.

While extending congratulations on the birth anniversary of Prophet Mohammad (PBUH), in the 38^th Islamic Unity Conference, 250 prominent scholars attended the conference and 234 others delivered lectures in webinars and more than 300 scientific articles on the issue of Palestine and Islamic cooperation to achieve common values were sent. In the closing meeting of the conference, the following points were mentioned:

1- Holy Qur’an is a unique heavenly guidance for human being. Peace and friendship with Muslims and allies and also resistance against the tyrants and oppressors are among its teachings. Three common values in human society: dignity, justice and security are among the common Islamic objectives for sustained development in the region.Human dignity is a heavenly gift that God Almighty has given to all human beings regardless of their ideologies and thoughts. Some features of this human dignity, most important among them thinking and God-seeking, have distinguished man from the other creatures. Also, the right to live, access to water, food and accommodation are among the most basic rights which are recognized as essentials to maintain human dignity.
The participants in this conference recognize the issue of holy Quds as one of the key common values and a unifying topic in Muslim world and the defense for the oppressed Palestinian people, based on the religious principles, is among the mandatory and ethical issues in Islam; therefore, our silence in response to the anti-human crimes by the Israeli regime is in contrast with our Islamic and human values.
2- The Muslim world scholars find the Operation al-Aqsa Flood and the resistance of the Palestinian fighters is a resolute, clear and legal response to the atrocious and racial policies of the Israeli regime since this legal and historic operation stands for the venting the hidden anger of the Palestinian nation and a response for more than seventy years of Israeli regime crimes amid the global silence against these crimes. Hence the spontaneous operations of the resistance front in Lebanon, Yemen, Iraq and other Islamic countries in support of the Palestinian people is in line with the Qur’anic recommendations and the teachings of Prophet Mohammad (PBUH) which summons all-out support by the world of Islam.
4- Muslim thinkers find the confrontation and defense of the Islamic countries for their territories in response to the atrocities and adventurism of the occupying Israeli regime is a legal right for all Muslim states and the Operation True Promise conducted by the Islamic Republic of Iran is a firm and legal response for the Israeli regime atrocity against Iran’s consulate building in Syria.

5- The scholars participating in this conference emphasize the point that the sole way to stop the crimes by occupying Israeli regime is unity of the Islamic nation and taking practical and coordinated measures in confrontation with the criminal regime. The participants in this conference stress that alliance with the occupying Israeli regime will never benefit the world of Islam since Israel is committed to no deal or agreement and is in constant pursuit of demolition, terror and conflicts in the world of Islam. The regime is in its weakest state and with the grace of God Almighty and also cooperation of the Islamic nations and governments, the major victory is coming.

6- The participating scholars demand total end to the political-economic relations of the Islamic states with the Israeli regime, including boycott of the fuel and demand the Muslim world scholars to inspire the Muslims and freedom-seekers across the globe to boycott Israeli products and set the deployment of food, necessities and military equipment for the oppressed Palestinians in Gaza as their humane and religious mission.

7- It is hoped that the world of Islam endeavors for just peace and struggles to eliminate warmongering discourse in the region. We embraced useless war in Yemen and Syria and now we appreciate reopening of the Arab countries’ embassies in Syria. We find dialogue as the sole way to achieve sustained peace in the region and warmly welcome developed Islamic countries like the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and Turkey when they set bridging between the Islamic denominations on the agenda of their meetings in Mecca and Istanbul. We invite these honorable governments to further develop their economic relations with the Islamic Republic of Iran. We appreciate them for marginalizing trans-national extremism. This move can set a role model for the divergent countries in the region and has led to an understanding that the foreign governments can never guarantee sustained peace in the region. This mutual move for closer ties, promises sustained peace and constant cooperation in the region. We hope that the cooperation between these countries continues and will lead to convergence in the field of science and technology, regional security, political power and fruitful economic and cultural exchanges AND that media convergence will replace divergent religious promotions, and eventually provide the proper grounds for establishment of the union of Islamic countries.

8- The Muslim world scholars call on all Islamic institutions and educational associations across the world of Islam, particularly those in Pakistan, to end extremist and Takfiri courses and to train students who target the world arrogant powers and tyrants, avoid conflicts within the world of Islam and expand affection and mercy among Muslims. The heavenly promise for forgiveness is dependent on friendship among all Islamic denominations.

9- Participants in this conference glorify Martyr Ismail Haniyeh as martyr of unity of Islamic nation, over whose body a multi-million-man funeral prayer was held as led by Ayatollah Khamenei.

In conclusion, the participants to the 38^th Islamic Unity Conference express their heartfelt appreciation for the Leader of the Islamic Revolution, Ayatollah Sayyed Ali Khamenei, for the warm welcome of the guests, his sublime guidelines. They also appreciate the endeavors by the late president, Ayatollah Sayyed Ebrahim Raeisi and the late foreign minister Hussein Amir-Abdollahian towards materializing the unity among Muslims and also supporting the resistance axis.
