Hamid Karzai, speaking at the 16th webinar of the 38th Islamic Unity Conference held on Tuesday, called Islam as the religion of unity and fraternity urging the Muslim elites to confer on the necessary ways to boost their solidarity, reported Taqrib News Agency (TNA).
 
He said,” Unity will pave the way for the Islamic countries to unanimously act on major issues like the issue of Palestine and reach the right solution.”
 
Former official also highlighted moderation as the prelude for the Islamic countries to counter extremism and said,” Extremism has penetrated into the world of Islam in a way that now the extremists are openly promoting their views while Islam is the religion of moderation, fraternity and equality.”
 
Karzai noted the multiple ways world peace is endangered and said,” Islamic countries have the capacity to create moderation and solidarity and also prevent expansion of Islamophobia by introducing Islam as the religion of peace and friendship.”
 
A number of prominent Muslim scholars from across the world of Islam detailed their views on importance of unity in the world of Islam and also the issue of Palestine in this online meeting.
