Hamas, in a statement on Saturday, lauded as “courageous” Nicaragua’s decision in this regard.
It described the move by Managua as a “step towards isolating the fascist Zionist entity, criminalizing its practices and exposing its widespread violations of the international law and humanitarian norms, which happen with political and military support from Washington and some Western powers.”
Hamas said, “As we appreciate Republic of Nicaragua’s fulfillment of its moral and political obligations towards our Palestinian people and their just cause, we call upon other countries to state their positions clearly towards the unrestrained Zionist violence against our Palestinian people and the peoples of the region”.
The Palestinian movement called for necessarily cornering the Israeli regime, holding its war criminal leaders accountable and standing by the Palestinian people in their quest to end the occupation and establish their independent state.
The statement by Hamas resistance movement comes following an announcement by Nicaragua that the central American country ends all forms of diplomatic relations with the “fascist” and “genocidal” Israeli regime.
Nicaragua’s government, in a statement, said the break in relations was due to Israel’s brutal attacks on Gaza.
